Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Papercut?

Papercutting is an old Chinese art form where an image is cut from a single sheet of paper.  We use the highest quality acid free paper to ensure your papercut will stand the test of time.

How are your frames made?

We’re very proud to be able to offer professional, custom made frames for our 10x8” papercuts. They are handmade from a sustainable wood and stained with your chosen finish.  Each frame is made to order, to an extremely high standard, due to this please allow up to 28 days for delivery of framed papercuts.

Are your papercuts hand or machine cut?

To allow me to produce the best possible papercut for a reasonable cost to you I use a combination of hand and machine cutting.  My trusty cutting machine cuts the basic design and I then hand cut the smaller details in the papercut. Although my cutting is very precise, it is never as "perfect" as a laser machine would cut. I choose not to use a laser cutter as these can leave brown burn marks/darkened edges to your papercut and my customers prefer the craftmanship (that should be craftwomanship!) of my combination cuts.

What happens once I have placed my order?

Once we have received your order, you will receive a confirmation email. If more information is required from you we will send you an email. Once your order is packaged and dispatched, we will send you an email to let you know it's on the way.

When will my order be delivered?

Our delivery times vary depending which product you have ordered and which postage option you have chosen. The current wait time is listed at the top of the website and the postage times are detailed next to each postage option.

Can you deliver my order any quicker?

Depending on how busy we are, we can sometimes accommodate urgent requests so if you need your order delivered by a certain date or before our current wait time send us a message and we'll see what we can do.
